— PHILOSOPHY
Your safety, dignity + comfort come first.
Your digestive health is personal. Your care should be, too.
Labyrinth offers a slower, more intentional approach to colon hydrotherapy—one centered around safety, dignity and your individual comfort. Each session gives you the time and space to listen to your body, understand the process and move at a pace that feels right for you.
We use the Aqua-Cleanse closed colon hydrotherapy system with triple-filtered, temperature- and pressure-controlled water. All tubing and speculums are single-use and disposable, and treatment surfaces are thoroughly sanitized between every client.
— WHAT IS COLON HYDROTHERAPY?
Gentle care.
A natural process.
Colon hydrotherapy gently introduces warm, triple-filtered, pressure-controlled water into the colon, helping soften and release waste through the body's natural peristalsis.
warm filtered water • pressure controlled • private and personalized
The process is repeated gradually throughout your session, always guided by your comfort. Lisa uses the SLO-FIL method, a gentle, nervous-system-informed approach designed to support a calm, comfortable experience.

— ABOUT LISA
Care shaped by experience.
My relationship with colon hydrotherapy began in 1995, when I accompanied a friend to an appointment in Maggie Valley. Curious about a practice that was completely new to me, I was invited to observe the process. That experience stayed with me.
Over the decades that followed, colon hydrotherapy became a regular part of my own wellness practice and deepened my appreciation for the connection between digestion, the nervous system, and our overall sense of well-being. Eventually, that personal experience grew into a desire to create something of my own: a practice where women could experience colon hydrotherapy in a way that felt gentle, unhurried, and deeply respectful of the body.
I trained with master colon hydrotherapist Cathy Shea at the International School of Colon Hydrotherapy and am certified by the International Association of Colon Hydrotherapists (I-ACT). My graduate training in Somatic Psychology also informs the way I work, bringing an awareness of the body and nervous system into each session.
Today, I bring 30+ years of personal experience and training together at Labyrinth—offering women a safe, supportive space to slow down, listen to their bodies, and feel genuinely cared for.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Your comfort, safety, and peace of mind matter. Whether you're new to colon hydrotherapy or returning to the practice, here are answers to some common questions to help you feel informed and at ease.
-
No, it will not hurt. Your comfort is always our priority.
We work very gently using a Slo-Fil Method of introducing water into the colon. There is a small plastic piece called a speculum that is gently inserted into the rectum. The speculum is lubricated so that it slides easily and with no discomfort. We'll explain each step, check in with you throughout, and encourage you to communicate what you are experiencing.
You are always in control and can pause or stop the session at any time.
-
We'll begin by taking time to talk, answer your questions, and help you feel comfortable.
During the treatment, small amounts of warm, filtered water are gently introduced into the colon. When you feel ready, the water is released through the closed system, carrying waste with it. This process may be repeated throughout the session, always guided by your comfort and how your body responds.
Gentle abdominal massage may also be incorporated when appropriate.
Our approach is intentionally unhurried. There is no pressure to achieve a particular outcome. Your body sets the pace, and we'll work together throughout the experience.
-
Please allow approximately 90 minutes for your first appointment.
We'll begin with a personal consultation to discuss your health history, medications, digestive concerns, and lifestyle. This gives us time to understand your individual needs, answer your questions, and review whether colon hydrotherapy is appropriate for you.
Certain health conditions may make colon hydrotherapy unsuitable, so please consult your healthcare provider before booking, particularly if you have existing gastrointestinal, kidney, or heart conditions.
The treatment itself typically lasts around 45 minutes, with additional time for preparation and conversation. Your comfort, safety, and informed consent are always our priorities.
-
We recommend avoiding constipating foods, like dairy and wheat, and large amounts of liquid for approximately two hours before your appointment, provided this is appropriate for your health needs.
Wear comfortable clothing and arrive with time to settle in. There's no need to feel rushed or to prepare your body in any particular way.
If you have questions about preparation, medications, or existing health conditions, please reach out before your visit.

Every woman's body and wellness journey is different.
We often suggest considering an initial series of three sessions, giving us time to become familiar with your body's responses and establish a comfortable rhythm together.
From there, we can discuss whether additional sessions make sense for your individual goals and preferences.
There is no one-size-fits-all schedule, and you'll never be pressured into ongoing treatments. Our role is to provide guidance and support so you can make informed decisions about your care.
-
No. You don't need to undertake a fast or separate cleanse before your appointment.
Staying comfortably hydrated and maintaining your usual balanced eating habits is generally sufficient.
Please discuss any supplements, cleansing products, or changes to your routine with us before your session. We don't recommend beginning a new supplement or restrictive regimen, solely to prepare for colon hydrotherapy, without appropriate medical guidance.
-
Regular bowel movements are generally a positive sign of digestive function, and colon hydrotherapy isn't necessary for routine waste elimination or detoxification. Your body already has natural systems for these processes.
Some women choose to explore colon hydrotherapy as a complementary wellness experience. Others are simply curious about how the practice might improve their digestive and overall well being.
Our role is to help you understand what the treatment involves, discuss your personal goals, and determine whether it's an appropriate choice for you.
-
Constipation can have many causes, including changes in diet, hydration, medications, and underlying health conditions. What’s considered a ‘regular’ bowel varies from person to person.
Therefore, if you're experiencing constipation, let us know and we'll discuss your symptoms and health history before considering a session.
Our goal is to support you in making informed decisions about your digestive wellness, including recognizing when medical guidance may be the most appropriate next step.
Colon hydrotherapy is a complementary wellness practice and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions. Please consult your healthcare provider if you have existing health concerns or persistent digestive symptoms.
